Hola a todos,

La frase en cuestión es del libro Cuenta contigo de Patricia Ramírez Loeffler.

Elige lo que piensas

Este tema ha sido casi un eje transversal a lo largo del libro. Te- nemos la capacidad y, con ello, la libertad de elegir lo que pensa- mos. Nuestros pensamientos funcionan como el principio de Arquímedes, ¿te acuerdas de lo que decía?: ... Tus pensamientos funcionan de la misma manera. Cuantos más barcos elijas meter, más medusas desalojas. Los barcos son pensamientos elegidos, los que te permiten sumar, y las medusas son los que pican, restan y te incomodan.

Elegir algo no puede ser una herramienta que se vuelva en tu contra, como he visto que les sucedía a muchos de mis pacientes. Se sienten responsables y culpables de su pena: «Sí, ya lo sé, la culpa es mía, que pienso en negativo». ¡Naranjas de la China! No eres culpable de nada, estás intentando cambiarlo, y eso ya es suficiente. Necesitas tratarte con respeto, con benevolencia y con paciencia, y también necesitas saber que los cambios requieren tiempo. Así que cada vez que te descubras pensando de forma catastrófica o enredándote con lo que no te conviene, empuja el barco pero no te castigues. Recuerda que la autocrítica te perjudica.

¿Qué significa "que pienso en negativo"?

It's my fault that I think negatively/My fault is that I think negatively (Yo tengo la culpa de pensar en negativo)?

Or: It's my fault, because I think negatively (la culpa es mía porque pienso en negativo)?

It's my fault (that) I think negatively.
(The comma in the original isn't necessary (not needed in the translation, either). The relative conjunction in the translation isn't necessary.)
