Once you become confident enough to communicate with others in
Spanish, you will automatically find yourself thinking in Spanish. When
it first happened to me, I was amazed.

Aún estoy aprendiendo el idioma, pero sabía bastante español para comunicar. Muchos latinos eran agradables--adulándome con "¡ay que bueno hablas español!---o "¿de dónde eres...Argentina?

Yeah Chileno.

How long time have you been studying Spanish?

Thank for the advice.

In the moment that I wrote the post, my brain was completely blocked.

It's funny to see "¿de dónde eres?" followed by "Argentina" ... I would expect it to be "¿de dónde sos ... Argentina?"

Clearly anyone who would ask me that would not be from Argentina. An Argentinian would know right away that I wasn't from Argentina, because I don't speak with an Argentine accent. I have an accent that many Spanish speakers cannot identify at first and some incorrectly guess it's Argentine. Most Spanish speakers would most-likely not be familiar with vos, or at least would not be confortable with it. They would use tú-- hence what has been asked is ¿de dónde eres?
