Question A firestorm of protest

My question here is about what would be the best translation... I started to give options and probably any and all may be fine... but if you have a particular one that seems to be best or optimum... please let me know...
I hope I don't generate one [a firestorm of protest] for asking such questions... (At any rate, can be a good exercise for English speakers and Spanish natives alike...)

Una avalancha de protesta

Una avalancha de protestas enfurecidas

Una ola de protestas airadas

Una serie de protestas que echan chispas,

Una serie de protestas coléricas

Una serie de protestas desatadas/desbocadas/descompuestas/desenfrenadas/encrespadas/enfurecidas/exacerbadas/furiosas

Bueno, antes de perder los estribos... y empezar a echar espumarajos por la boca, mejor que lo deje ahí, no sea que se le vayan a hinchar las narices a alguien y me conteste echando fuego por los ojos..., en caso de que se le haya subido la sangre a la cabeza... (Haya paz...)

Apenas leí el título pensé en "avalancha de protestas". Leyendo en detenimiento tu explicación y opciones, yo incluiría el verbo en ello (generate) porque creo que el tono lo fija "generate a firestorm of protest", y en tal caso me inclino más por "no levante una ola de protestas", o más precisamente, "no suscite una andanada de protestas".

En cuanto he leído el título, sin ver tus opciones, he pensao en algo más de mi tierra
"se generó un aluvión de protestas" pero entiendo que "avalancha" tambien vale.
Si quieres más picante, " un aluvión de airadas protestas".
Como siempre lo que sugiere Alec también....

Gracias Sosia... lo del "aluvión" me suena bien... que no hay que confundir con "alubión" que es una "alubia" muy grande...
