High-button shoes
"Botines de botones" is an option to translate it into Spanish I found in another forum. That seems fine, if translating the actual physical 'object'. Yet, if it is used to name a "horse", I take that as a proper noun, it would be 'untranslatable'.
But, is there any other option?

Son zapatos de los años '90. (1890) Había un musical de Broadway llamado así.

Sí, en España también se usan esos términos, aunque quizá más "botas de fútbol".

Acá a esas botas les diríamos simplemente "botas", y creo que especificaríamos cómo son. Hablo popularme, seguramente alguien que sabe del tema las llamará de otra manera. Pero "botines" no creo porque ya está tomada por el fútbol ... las "botineras" son las mujeres que enganchan jugadores de fútbol, por su dinero y demás. La mayoría de las chicas que se ven en la tele de acá, que arman escandalo entre otras cosas, son "botineras". Y ahora mismo hay una serie que tiene ese nombre, y trata justamente sobre eso. Igualmente el botín no es solo para el fútbol, puede también ser para otro deporte como el rugby.

Aquí a los zapatos de futbol, se les llama "tacos (de futbol)".
El pequeño esperpento de la foto, se llamaría bota de/con botones. Los botines se asocian más con el calzado masculino o de tipo "vaquero".
