Ayer me dolió el estómago durante todo el día y no pude comer nada. No sé cuál era la razón del dolor. Quizás haya comido algo malo. Intenté tomar una medicina pero no me ayudó. Quizás haya sido un virus, pero afortunadamente los virus desaparecen por lo general al cabo de un día y hoy ya me siento mucho mejor. Intentaré acordarme de lavarme las manos inmediatamente cada vez que llego a casa, tomarme las vitaminas y comer ajo regularmente.

I understood that after quizás the use of subjunctive mood is necessary. Why isnt it correct in this case?

I would say tomar ajo, instead of Eating, garlic is usually taken with other foods, it´s not eaten like if it was an apple or pear. It doesn´t sound right to me, that´s all.
