According to Wikipedia........ Pinoy is a demonym used by Filipinos for their compatriots in the Philippines and around the world. Filipinos usually refer to themselves informally as Pinoy or some times feminine: Pinay, which is formed by taking the last four letters of the word 'Filipino' and adding the diminutive suffix -y. It sounds like the plight of the Filipinos has been very similar to the plight of the Hispanics/Latinos.
I don't know why race or color or national origin is something that comes to the forefront of everything. We are all human beings and that is what is important. Variety adds spice to life. Elaina |
