Jchen,
Speaking in generalities, and jokingly an Italian boss( and a British chef for that matter)may be less than ideal. The opposite (generally speaking) would be better. Italian food is tasty, British food life mashed canned peas is awful. An even tempered English person may be a better boss than a
hot tempered Italian
Reminder: people who see generalities as the law rather than one point
of judgement criteria are terribly naive.

Right, Poli

I know it sounds naive for some people to generalise, but in Europe we are like a group of neighbours learning to leave their doors open when just 60 years ago some of us were killing each other. In the process of learning how to be together, this kind of generalisation, probably 'politically' incorrect in another culture, is coming out. I don't support the european union fully, I think it will still take long for us to fit together...on the while, this kind of joke helps people to understand that some countries do some things very well but are horrible at others, and they should be ready to hear both. The USE (united states of europe) is a weird thought if everything French, German or English can say is 'We are the best'.

This kind of generalisation is another way to get to know each other better.
