perro sato

Perro Sato = Stray Dog
No breed exactly - just any dog that is stray.

Ciao

Elaina, do you know if that's local vernacular for any specific region, because I've always hear perro callejero for stray dog.

perros satos

Elaina and David,

I did a little more research and what I found out agrees with what Elaina said. Perro sato is a dog of no particular pedigree. It is a term widely used in Puerto Rico, Cuba and Spain as well. Does anyone know what the
term for mutt or mongrol is other Spanish speaking countries?

I must say I have never heard "perro sato" in Spain. We call them "perros callejeros" or "perros sin raza"
