Question Ling Po saying

“He who neglects to drink of the spring of experience is likely to die of thirst in the desert of ignorance.”

I saw this maxim by Ling Po, the great Chinese poet.

I do not have the original Chinese quote, but I wonder if he is literally using the same metaphors as in English...?

(Not sure if this question belongs here, and/or under Chinese... but in finding the concept very applicable to life, I thought it was a good idea to share it... lest we die of thirst!

http://thinkexist.com/quotes/ling_po/

Now that I have the right name I found this link too.
http://www.poemhunter.com/li-po/

Thank you Poli. Make sense. May the power be with you!
