Iris is on a distinguished road

Depende del escritor = it depends on the author
cuando me atrevo a leer un libro = when I venture to read a book

I think you can also say primer idioma o primera lengua.

Ok, thanks Iris, I learn something every day! So there's all kinds of options:
  • native language
  • native tongue
  • mother tongue
  • first language
  • idioma natal
  • lengua materna
  • primer idioma
  • primera lengua

I thought you were married, Iris. This is great news!

Of all of these options, I'd rather primera lengua, which I propose to substitute the idioma natal that appears in the Spanish interface of Tomísimo. Since nobody until today has been born talking a language, we might think that idioma natal is not an accuracy phrase. We could consider change it again as soon as the first talking baby is born.

There isn't a single girl means no hay ni una sola chica (it doesn't refer to my marital status...).
And you say: this is great news.
