Dar vergüenza ajena

Means you are ashamed on somebody's behalf... cannot think of a translation though.

Let´s wait for Tomisimo or Rusty, I´m sure they will come up with sth.

Ejemplo:
Cuando la ví acudir a la fiesta con ese vestido de zarrapastrosa, sentí vergüenza ajena.

Sentir vergüenza ajena: to be ashamed for someone.
When I saw him come to the party in those scruffy clothes I was ashamed for him.

Dar vergüenza ajena: to make people ashamed for you? Sounds odd...

sentir vergüenza ajena = to feel embarrassed for someone
When I saw him ..., I felt embarrassed for him.

dar vergüenza ajena = to make one feel embarrassed for another
Me da vergüenza ajena que él ...
It makes me feel embarrassed for him that he ...
