pecase

Can anybody help me with the word pecase? I can't find it in the dictionary and I'm at my wits end.

The reason why you can't find it in the dictionary is because it's a form of the verb pecar to sin. In fact it's the imperfect subjunctive, which is fairly advanced stuff so I wouldn't worry about the details just yet. It's a bit difficult to give an off-the-shelf translation, but if you can give some context we should be able to help!

Incidentally, it might be useful to know (and help with learning vocabulary) that pecar is related to the English word peccadillo, which literally means small sin.

Drat!

Maybe you'll have to associate pecar with pecan pie then!
