Wheat grass and barley grass
I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. I've looked up wheat and barley (trigo and cebada), which I'm pretty sure are right, but I can't figure out how I should say wheat grass and barley grass, which is the young, new growth of the plant that you can use to make drinks etc.
Thanks. |

Does hierba or yerba also means weed (grass, pot) ?

I'm no good at english, I think weed it's "mala hierba " (bad grass) but I'm not sure.
In Spain it's better to write hierba ( hierbas aromáticas, las hierbas de un jardín,..), yerba it's more for certain uses (a plant in Argentina: Yerba= las hojas secas y molidas de la yerba mate para preparar justamente el mate) But the Spanish Language Academy accepts both (hierba/yerba) for the grass. |
