Question Acordarse/ recordar

¿Me pregunté si hay una diferencia en el uso de estos dos verbos?

¿Son intercambiables , o hay situaciones en las que es preferible de usar la una a la otra?

Creo que es preferible usar la primera. La segunda tiene dos sentidos (remember y remind).

Me acuerdo de ti. = Te recuerdo. = I remember you.
but
Te recuerdo que tienes que levantarte a las seis.
means
I remind you that you have to get up at six. -or-
Remember that you have to get up at six.

Sometimes you can use both "recordar" and "acordarse" with the same meaning. The difference is in the preposition "de" which follows "acordarse":

Me acuerdo de ti.
Te recuerdo.

No me acordé de poner el despertador.
No recordé poner el despertador.

Recuérdame que escriba la carta.
Hazme acordar de que escriba la carta.

Era muy temprano. Mi esposa entró al cuarto del computador y me preguntó que era lo que estaba haciendo tantemprano, a las 3 AM. Me había levantado pensando que eran las 5 o 6 AM.

Encuanto a liarse, no te preocupes, que pasa de todas maneras con esto del los idiomas...
