Indicative/Subjuntive or both?

Buenas tardes a todos

In English we can say:

"Would it be better if I paid you in dollars?" or
"Would it be better if I were to pay you in dollars?"

My question is: Can you do the same is Spanish?

"¿Sería mejor si te pago en dólares?"
"¿Sería mejor si te pague en dólares?"

Thanks for your time

I fee that you also could say.

May it better If I pay you in dollars?

Podria ser mejor is te pago en dolares.

I believe that sound better but I don't know the American people has the end word.

Thanks Rusty. I'm a little confused by your answer. Are you saying "only si te pagara works" if using the subjunctive or that the indicative should never be used in this case.

Thanks again

"Would it be better if I paid you in dollars?" or
"Would it be better if I were to pay you in dollars?"

These would both be translated as:

¿Sería mejor si te pagara en dólares?

"pagara" is the imperfect subjunctive mood.

¿Sería mejor si te pagara en dóalres?
if you are going to pay at the moment, you can simply say
¿Prefieres que te pague en dólares?/ ¿prefieres dólares?
