Presumir/fachendista

As far as I can tell from dictionary research, presumir means to show off and fachendista is the noun, show-off. I present this to the forum, because to show off has several meanings, and the meaning I am looking for is the negative one.
Is a fachendista someone who tries too hard to impress others? Is presumir the corresponding verb?

I've never heard "fachendista", so I can't tell how or where it's used.

In Mexico, the most common way to say "show off" is "presumido(a)". One of my aunts used to say "fachoso(a)", but this word usually describes a shabbily dressed person.
In a higher register, and in more standard Spanish, you may use "jactancioso", "petulante", "presuntuoso", "creído"...
