Question Perspectiva Cultural

Please read, then see if my answers to the following 2 questions are okay. Thanks in advance!!

Costa Rica is a diverse land of mountains, rivers, volcanoes, forests, and valleys bounded by the Pacific Ocean on the west and the Caribbean Sea on the east. It is about half the size of the state of Virginia.

Costa Rica has made extraordinary efforts to protect its natural resources. It has many national parks and reserves where endangered species of plants and animals are protected. Even more important, their habitats are also protected: several kinds of rain forests (including some that don't get a lot of rain and some that are constantly foggy), mangrove swamps (marshy areas with trees whose root systems grow about the ground), and lakes. Costa Rica has also preserved areas of historical and archaeological interest, such as battle sites, pre-Columbian settlements, and areas of great scenic beauty, such as beaches and waterfalls.

El Parque Nacional Tortuguero on Costa Rica's northeast coast is critical for the protection of sea turtles (tortugas marinas) because so many of them lay their eggs there. Also found in the diverse habitats in the park are seven different types of land turtles, white-faced spider monkeys (monos cara blanca), howler monkeys (monos congo), crocodiles (cocodrilos), manatees (manatíes), sloths (perezosos), over 300 species of birds, and many kinds of butterfiles (mariposas). The southern end of the park features canals, winding rivers, and hidden lagoons. Tourists can take a boat through these waterways to get a firsthand look at the natural wonders. In the dense surrounding jungle, trees entwined with orchids may be close to 200 feet tall. (Scientists in Costa Rica have recorded 1500 species of orchids!)

The people of Costa Rica are working hard to encourage economic growth while preserving the incredible variety of plants and animals that abound there.

La cultural desde tu perspectiva
1 Why do you think Costa Rica has invested so much effort to preserve its plants and animals and their habitats? Costa Rica wants to preserve the beauty of their lands, and in order to do this, they must protect the plants and animals.
2 Do you think the flora and fauna of the United States are also threatened? If so, in what way? Yes, they are threatened by air pollution.

I don't see any correlation between the text and the questions. The text gives facts and you have to amke an opinion, not recollect data.

1.- Your personal opinion it's OK. I would add also that preserving the beauty they bring more tourits to the land.
2.- Your personal opinion. I suppose it's OK.

Saludos

Creo que opinión está apropriado aqui, pero no soy el profesor.

Edit: Ooops, must be my lack of coffee this morning. I misread Sosia's post and thought (he?) was saying that you should answer with fact. After re-reading, I agree with Sosia's post.

¿ "Creo que las opiniónas son apropriadas aqui" ?

Ah, 'opinión' I had a inkling that was one of the cases that, when plural, switched to 'es'. It just sounds better, but I couldn't quickly confirm and didn't have time to google it. Gracias.

Almost all words that end in ión are femenine. To form their plural, drop the accent over the o and add -es.
