Yo ___ este clase, por eso yo estoy devolviendo los libros

Decidí no seguir con este curso.
I'm sure there are other ways to say this too using verbs like renunciar or
resignar. I wouldn't use them without the advise of a native speaker however.

(Yo) Dejo / Abandono

*** la/esta clase,...
*** el/este curso,...
*** la/esta materia,...
*** la/esta cátedra,... (better suited for an university.)

por eso estoy devolviendo los libros. (Yo isn't needed.)
por eso devuelvo los libros.
por eso le devuelvo los libros. (if you're returning the books to her directly.)

Renunciar and resignar suits better when you're a worker not when you're a student.
