Unirme o juntarme

¿Puedo unirme a ti?
¿Puedo juntarme a ti?

Yo sé ambos significa "May I join you" pero ¿es uno más común en día a día conversación?

Como siempre, gracias. Bob

I would say,¿ puedo ir contigo? or ¿puedo acompañarte?
.
Use of unir and juntar seem wrong to my anglo ears.

Wait for native speakers for more definitive answers.
