Yes, as I look at this sentence now (AM, coffee in hand) it does make more sense. Using "voluntary" isn't quite the adjective I would expect under the circumstances, but it is certainly comprehensible.
As an aside: Yes, much has been written about "man's" fear of true freedom and subsequent self-imposition of boundaries (bars, walls, laws) Somewhat Freudian, really, where the super-ego takes on the role of the authority within the individual. Or at least that's one angle Thanks all for the help! |
