Question Insurance adjuster

someone who is employed by an insurance company to decide how much to pay people who have had an accident, had something stolen

How do you say this (insurance adjuster) in Spanish?

"tasador de seguros"?

En México se llama "ajustador de seguros".

En españa normalmente es "perito" si quieres saber el valor/estado de algo (accidentes, peticiones de juez, etc) y "tasador" para las casas, coches y otros bienes que quieres saber el precio de mercado
Para lo que preguntas, es el "perito del seguro".
Un ejemplo de tasador sería "el tasador del banco, el tasador de la inmobiliaria"

En México, el perito es normalmente el empleado de alguna autoridad, que se encarga de evaluar una situación; puede ser un perito de accidentes, de escritos, etc.
Al tasador en México se le llama "valuador"; se encarga de estimar el valor de autos, casas, etc.

Hmm, me parece que "valuador" significa más bien "appraiser", la persona que estima el valor actual de algo. Un "adjuster" determina cuánto la compañía de seguros le pagará al cliente por los daños y también si la causa de los daños era una de las causas denominadas en la póliza.

De acuerdo, wrholt... sólo quise señalar la diferencia de vocabulario en México. Aquí, si siempre que se trata de un seguro de bienes, siempre es "ajustador".
