Translation for "crowning jewel"
I'm translating the phrase below, and I'm having a hard time with the idiom "crowning jewel". What would be the best translation for that phrase?


The art showcase was a perfect combination of student and teacher creativity plus parent support, making it the “crowning jewel” in an amazing and successful program.

Se traduce como "joya de coronación", pero yo usaría "broche de oro", a menos que quieras decir fue la joya que coronó la noche, o algo parecido.

I know that the subject of colmo has been brought up in these forums before, but I'm still no completely confident in using it.

Yes, you could, but you have to emphasize the fact that it is good, else it will be taken as a bad comment.
