En cuento a
I know this term is used frequently, but I stay away from it for fear of getting it wrong. Does it mean en torno a exclusively. Is there a difference in the usage or meaning?

Hi, Poli!
The expression is "en cuAnto a"... en cuanto a 1. loc. prepos. Por lo que toca o corresponde a. That is "in regards to" "with regard to" "as for"... I would use it to change subject or to go back to the subject... En cuanto a la pregunta del otro día... bla-bla-bla... "En torno a" I would use it to tell you, "Voy a dar una charla o una conferencia en torno a las expresiones que usamos los de la Mancha..." Hope this helps! :-)

Cierto, Robin: "traer algo a cuento" sería "to bring something up" y "sin venir a cuento" sería "for no reason at all".
"¿A cuento de qué?" querría decir "¿por qué razón?", algo como "¿cómo se relaciona lo que dices con su causa?" "¿Por qué razón dirías eso?"... Si algo "viene a cuento" es útil o provechoso para el tema del que tratamos... Saludos cordiales.
