Saciar la sed, matar el hambre
How can we say when we are starving we eat and we matamos el hambre or when we are really thirsty and we drink lots of water to saciar la sed.?Thanks.

The GDO has for matar:
B (familiar) ‹sed› to quench; compraron fruta para matar el hambre they bought some fruit to keep them going o to take the edge off their appetite; para matar el tiempo to kill time Is that what you mean? Meanwhile, you quench a thirst (but not hunger) |

We also use "kill hunger" or "kill one's hunger."
Also, it's quite common in the US to use "kill one's thirst," but "quench one's thirst" is more popular. |
