¿Cómo se dice..."

"Somebody has dropped it."
"Alguien se lo ha caido."


"Somebody has lost it."
"Alguien se lo ha perdido."

A alguien se le ha caído (eso).
=Eso se le ha caído a alguien.

Verbo "caerse" (caérsele algo a alguien)

"Somebody has lost it."
"Alguien se lo ha perdido."

La frase es correcta; pero no significa eso. Cuando hablamos de perder un objeto se dice:

Alguien lo ha perdido
Verbo "perder"

En cambio, si nos referimos a perder un acontecimiento, una cita o algo programado:

Alguien se lo ha perdido
Verbo "perderse".

"Explanación" consiste en aplanar (allanar) un terrero para construir encima o con alguna otra finalidad. No es lo mismo.
