En el artículo enmendado del DRAE nos dan:

Actually, it is not at all certain. According to Plutarch what he said was ανερρίφθω κύβος, let the die be cast. For some mysterious reason, everybody assumes that JC always spoke Latin.

My D20 isn't a cube, and has its faces marked with digits reading 1 to 20.
