I am going shopping today.
Voy de compras hoy.

I hope that I can find something to wear to the dinner party at Marie's house tonight.
Espero que pueda encontrar algo para llevar a la cena en la casa de Marie esta noche.

It is wonderful that Marie take the time to entertain all her friends.
Es maravilloso que Marie se tome el tiempo necesario para ricibir todos sus amigos.

She is an excellent host and a great cook.
Ella es una anfitrióna excelente y a gran cocinera.

If I had her skill at cooking, I would be a great chef.
Si poseyera su habilidad en cocinar, sería un gran jefa.

I know how to cook, but nothing I create in the kitchen ever turns out well.
Sé cocinar pero nada creo en la cocina no (se?)sale bien nunca.

I have never had much success with preparing meals.
Nunca he tenido mucho éxito con la preparación de las cenas.

(These coins are proving useful, but I will turn peniless if I use them too much lol) Just suggesting to make it sound more natural. Everything Rusty corrected is a 100% grammatical.

Is expression of negation of the action in a subordinate clause the reasoning behind using the subjunctive of salir? Had to think about that one.

Actually, I think it should be:
Sé cocinar pero nada (de lo que) que hago en la cocina sale bien.

couldn't find any reference to using subjunctive with negation

in my verb tenses book. Did find this example on AboutSpanish.com
No hay nadie que tenga frío.

Subjunctive in that sentence is 100% ungrammatical and sounds weird. Pls don't go by the book....Mr. T is right. Nth you make in the kitchen IS actually good.

No hay nadie que tenga frio is a different ball. If there is nobody, automatically we enter subjunctive (putative, hypothetical field)

Cmon, the best comprehensive Spanish grammar is the one written by JM Alcina y Rafael Blecua. Very good book, reminds me of Randolph Quirk's
