I'd probably say something like this:
He was found guilty. - Lo hallaron culpable. I find him attractive. - Lo veo atractivo.

So it varies by situation?
Is it wrong to say, for example, Ellos encontraron al acusado culpable ? |

I'm not a native speaker, but to me encontraron sounds more like physicaly finding something/someone and hallaron has a more figurative feeling too it (although it can also be used as a sinonym for encontrar.)

Native here.
The two particular cases could be: He was found guilty. - Lo declararon/hallaron culpable. I find him attractive. - Lo considero/encuentro atractivo. |
