Preterite Vs Imperfect
El ambiente en el concierto era fantástico.
El ambiente en el concierto fue fantástico. I understand both tenses are correct here, but which is more commonly used? Would it be the Imperfect because we are 'describing' something in the past? Many thanks in advance. |

The use depends on what the speaker has in mind: either the time during the concert or the experience past.
