Oreja
This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for July 3, 2008
oreja - feminine noun (la) - ear. Look up oreja in the dictionary Muchos animales son capaces de mover sus orejas hacia la dirección de donde proviene un sonido, pero los humanos no tenemos esa capacidad. Many animals are able to move their ears toward a sound, but humans do not have that ability.

Please help me. What is the difference between oido and oreja. Oido is the organ and oreja is the outer ear; is that right?

I think so. You would say:
Me duelen los oídos. Prince Charles tiene las orejas muy grandes.
