A closely related term is sour grapes. It's what a sore loser says and how they compensate for losing. Is there a similar term in Spanish? I don't think uvas agrias will work.

For those who know the fable (not that many) "las uvas están muy verdes", but there is a common "consolation" from the losers against the winners: "afortunado en el juego, desafortunado en el amor".
