La generación del 98
Is anyone interested on this group of authors?
My favorite one is probably Antonio Machado... but Unamuno, and Valle-Inclán are also great... Who is your favorite author of that group?

What did you mean?
With the ninety eight generation. I have the doubt about it. Nowadays I'm quite interested in some many books about stories of the Mexican revolution, they all wrote in English, then so I can improve my speech. Already I haven't much time for post very often, for issues works. Did you have read the book about the cake world from Europe? I would like share information about the people died in that revolution? And it result very interesting for the amply knowledge of the European story. Sincerely yours.

Excellent. I read some of the Machado poetry, few novels by Unamuno and some plays by Valle-Inclán... also some Baroja. But I read these books quite a while ago. I loved these when I read them... and I will read them again... or new books too.
Machado has excellent poetry, (quoting by memory, so it may not be accurate) Entre el vivir y el soñar hay una tercera cosa... adivínala.

I agree with you absolutely about Antonio Machado ( ) in poetry. But in prose I like very much Unamuno, Azorín, Baroja. I loved so much San Manuel Bueno, Mártir, by Unamuno when I read it. Or El Árbol de la Ciencia, by Pío Baroja.

Yes, I read these two books a while ago and I think they are great. (I prefer Unamuno over Baroja, although both are really awesome.) On Azorín I don't remember any novel, I believe I have read some of his essays and short stories, which were great.
As far as Machado, I think he was a total genius! El ojo que te ve no es ojo porque tú lo veas... es ojo porque te ve. (The above was one of the many A. Machado's lines...)

¡Qué gran frase! ¿Qué tal ésta?:
En España, de cada diez cabezas, nueve embisten y una piensa. No ha cambiado el mundo mucho desde entonces... And I agree with you, I prefer Unamuno, although Baroja is really good, too. |
