Detras vs. atras

People,

Are both forms correct in terms of the preposition?

Estás detras de las matas.

Estás atras de las matas.

Is either form more common?

Thanks in advance,

Dean

You would use detrás de.

Silopanna, it's correct your examples, you can use both sentences, here I show you another example:

Mi hermano esta detras de la casa.

If you've some doubt about this example, please let me know.

Alfonso, good morning or good night in your case.

Why do you say to are both examples're bad.?

Atras and Cria Cuervos

The reason that I ask is because I always thought is was: "detras de".

But in the movie Cria Cuervos, where the little girls are playing hide and go seek, the little girl who was "it" announced that the other one was "...atras de las matas." At least I think that I head it that way, and I played in back several times.

Perhaps I should ask "What is the most generally accepted and common form?"

I am still confused on this one.

Well, At least I'll use this sentence ( Estoy atras de las matas, o igual Estoy detras de las matas que en realidad es lo mismo.)

They both mean the same, but detrás de las matas
is the one that is gramatically correct.

I'm agreed with you, the second phrase is the more correct.
