Allí vas a matar ...

Allí vas a matar y a que no te maten

These little word combinations drive me crazy. I understand a que + subj after a verb, but y a que ??

I guess the meaning is something like you are going to kill or get killed, but can somebody explain the grammar? Thanks.

Context: Afghanistan

If you understand a que + subj after a verb, you will understand these sentences:

Allí vas a matar.
Allí vas a que no te maten.

So:

Allí vas a matar y allí vas a que no te maten.

And then:

Allí vas a matar y a que no te maten.

I agree with the meaning given by Robindesbois.
