Encimar
This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for April 18, 2009
encimar (verb) — to stack, stack up, put something on top of (something else), overlap. Look up encimar in the dictionary ¿Puedes encimar las sillas junto a la pared? Can you stack the chairs by the wall?

Entonces para ustedes, ¿no existe la palabra "encimar"? O nomás no la usarían para decir poner algo sobre otra cosa?
Yo entiendo amontonar pero para el ejemplo de la palabra del día, yo usaría encimar. Okay switching to English so I can explain better. Amontonar and apilar, for me is to put or place something in a pile. Not necessarily in order. Encimar, for me is to stack things up in some type of order. I know I could be wrong but that is how I have used those words before.

I can use the word stack in my follow examples.
I stacked my bed upon the table.

I know encimar is used in Mexico. I guess it's not used in (any?) others.
