Ha llovido mucho desde entonces

Arrow Ha llovido mucho desde entonces

When we are talking about something that happened in the distant past , in Spanish we usually say " ha llovido mucho desde entonces " to mean that that was a long time ago, and at present it might be unimportant. IS there a similar expression in English?
