Le vs Les

Hola...buenos dias,

I was hoping that the very helpful people can advise me on the following which is confusing me a little. I came across the following when reading earlier;

1) Are you are going to make the bed for our daughters.
(Vas a hacerle la cama a nuestras hijas?)

2) I had to teach the children
(Tenía que enseñarle a los niños)

In the examples above, should it not be "vas a hacerLES la cama a nuestras hijas" and "tenia que enseñarLES a los niños" considering that it is plural?

Thanks very much in advance

Nilo

You are correct in both in cases. The indirect object pronoun should be plural.

That said, you may very well hear and see this wrong usage here and there.
