Servido / servido en bandeja / servido en bandeja de plata

It is used in general and local expressions to mean -ironically, many times- that some action has been extremely facilitated. For instance, in Argentina -and other countries- they say "le dejó la pelota servida" (or "el balón") or simply "se la dejó servida" when a footballer plays in a way the ball is left exactly in front of a fellow player for him to kick a goal. In fact "dejarla" or "dejarsela servida" is a set expression in Argentina, with lexicalized pronouns.

How do I convey the same notion in English? Are there other ways to convey this meaning in Spanish?

I thought of it because the comment here is that Eastwood "se las dejó servida" for Obama's campaign managers to publish the photo with "this seat is taken" (yet another meme is born)
