This seems to have a specific time period attached to it, but what exactly?

La guardia civil rescató, desde la tarde noche de ayer, ...

La calima comenzará a remitir a lo largo de la tarde noche de este Jueves

(I need to know the latter one - it's too hot!!)

Here the sun is dying near 18:30
15:00 is "tarde" in all it's meaning
16:00
17:00
18:00 is "a la tardecita"
19:00/30 this for me would be "tarde noche"

Thanks - I wonder if there are variations. I bet the Canaries are different - they sometimes are.

Around here there is no specific hour for "la tarde-noche". It's any time between (late) afternoon ("tardecita") to dusk, and one or two hours after it gets dark.

Ookami's schedule is also a bit different here:
Tarde: After midday, from 12 pm to 6 (in winter) or 7 pm.
"Tardecita": After lunch time (here, lunch time generally ends around 4 pm).
Noche: It starts when it gets dark, from 6-7 pm to daybreak.

Well, here after 12/13 it's "tarde" too, but I wanted to say that 15 it's the representative hour of the "tarde", when the sun is shining with all it's strengh.
Here we lunch at 12/13, so we don't have that food-based difference in "tarde" - "tarde noche"

Gracias. Entonces es ahora mismo tarde noche (mas o menos)

Here 8:40 PM, there: 7:40 PM. Todavía es la tarde allí. Dentro de una hora, más o menos, será la tarde noche allí.
