Esperar a algo o alguien como agua en mayo

Ejemplo:
Esta mañana estaba esperando a mi housekeeper, para que me echáse una mano con la gata, llega le abro la puerta y le digo te esperaba como agua en mayo. ( Porque sabía que iba a llegar y quería que viniese porque la necesitaba) Como el agua de mayo, es siempre bien venida para que luego germinen los trigales, y cebadales, y demás.
