Estoy colgado
Hola a todos,
La frase en cuestión es del libro Cuenta contigo de Patricia Ramírez Loeffler. "Las personas se preocupan por el «qué pensarán los demás» si las ven hacer actividades que a priori «deberían» realizarse acompañado. Podrían llegar a la conclusión de que «no tengo amigos, estoy colgado, soy un tipo raro». Lo cierto es que eso es lo que tú pensarías de alguien cuando lo ves solo en el cine. Son tus prejuicios." None of the meanings from the DRAE seem appropriate to me. https://dle.rae.es/colgado?m=form But this is what I've found in Collins: https://www.collinsdictionary.com/di...nglish/colgado 2. (= chiflado) nutter (very informal) Is this the correct meaning for the above context? Many thanks in advance. |

Yes, chiflado is most likely the correct meaning here.
'Nutter' is perhaps understood in Britain, and it looks like it's a noun. Because «estar colgado» was used, I would expect that an adjective follows. In that case, the meaning would be, "I'm crazy, nuts, whacked (nutty)." |
