It's ofter because the red jokes are more than an insult and the green jokes are more than a joke with more humor than insult.

For some reason "red jokes" are not called "chistes rojos"...they're called "chistes colorados" and these are all sexual or nasty...

No Jchen. The jokes are named red jokes because they contained insult or words out the place only it's for adult not kids, but and the pink jokes are more about the women than the mans, I hope you can understand the different between the colors that classify the jokes.
