Construyen otro estacionamiento/parquadero=They're making/building another parking lot.

Muchas gracias

Por favor corrijan todos mis errores

Hola
You can use both, but usually sounds better presente progresivo.

¿Que hace tu hija este verano?
(Ella) está preparando los exámenes de septiembre.
(Ella) prepara los exámenes de septiembre

¿que está haciendo tu hija?
Ella está preparando los exámenes de septiembre.
Ella prepara los exámenes de septiembre

(ella) está estudiando francés, leyendo un libro en español y nadando (durante el verano) =She's studying French, reading a book in Spanish, and swimming (during the summer) OK

(ella) estudia francés, lee un libro en español y nada = it's ok, but sounds as She's a multitask machine

They're making/building another parking lot.
Están construyendo otro aparcamiento OK
Construyen otro estacionamiento also OK, but perhaps they have not begin, or it's only a proyect.

hope it helps

Cool

Hola a Todos:

En este caso......

¿Qué hace tu hija este verano?....... What is your daughter doing this summer?

Está preparando los examenes de Septiembre. Makes me think she is a teacher and is preparing exams for school.

Ahora........

Está preparándose para los exámenes de Septiembre. Implies that she is preparing herself for exams in September.

¿Qué está haciendo tu hija? ..... What is your daughter doing? Implies what is she doing right now. Otherwise, (I think) it would be .... ¿Que hace tu hija?

Does this make sense? Quizá yo estoy confundida.

¿Qué piensan? Estoy en un error?

thanks gramatica for your corrections.
To Elaina (and gramatica)
First, I was trying to correct gramatica's expresions.
Elaine is 100% correct, but.....
In Spanish we always try to say a lot with few words. So your comments are 100% accurate for "writed spanish", but not for "oral spanish". For example

¿Qué hace tu hija este verano?....... What is your daughter doing this summer?

Está preparando los examenes de Septiembre. Makes me think she is a teacher and is preparing exams for school.

Yes, but also the other option. In Spain only the students prepare exams. . And you usually know if the daughter it's a teacher or a student.

Está preparándose para los exámenes de Septiembre. Implies that she is preparing herself for exams in September.
It's correct, and sounds better, and it's more accurate. The correct form for writing. But it's more dificult to learn/explain, because implies "se". Because of this, I prefer that Tomisimo give the gramatical answers

¿Qué está haciendo tu hija? ..... What is your daughter doing? Implies what is she doing right now.
Should be, but usually is'nt. Yes, if the daughter it's near. But usually you don't ask for the very moment. Most parents doesn't know what they kids are doing .
So it's better to add "ahora/este verano/este curso/estos dos últimos meses" in order to clarify if it's really NOW or in the meantime

Otherwise, (I think) it would be .... ¿Que hace tu hija?

Not really. Gramatically OK, but sounds VERY direct, like a sharpshooter. I prefer your ¿Que está haciendo tu hija? or ¿A qué se dedica ahora tu hija? It's also direct, but a little less.

If the daughter it's painting MY sofa or shouting loud, perhaps I can say to the father "¿Que hace tu hija?" or "¿Que está haciendo tu hija?", but more as a reproach/protest.

Does this make sense? Quizá yo estoy confundida. ¿Qué piensan? Estoy en un error?
No, you're right. All your answers are OK, and it's always your case in the writing form. But it's very common to hear the other forms

Hope it helps

Thank you Sosia
Ahoa tiene mucho mas sentido. Ya lo entiendo.

Algunas correciones:

"writed spanish"=written Spanish, but not for "oral spanish" se puede tambien decir "Spoken Spanish". For example,

Está preparando los examenes de Septiembre. It makes me think that she is a teacher and is preparing exams for school.

Está preparándose para los exámenes de Septiembre. Implies that she is preparing herself o geting ready for the tests/exams in September.

¿Qué está haciendo tu hija? ..... What is your daughter doing? Implies what is she doing right now.=It/this implies what she is doing right now.
Should be, but usually is'nt.=isn't Yes, if the daughter it's=is near.

Not really. Gramatically OK, but it sounds VERY direct, like a sharpshooter. I prefer your ¿Que está haciendo tu hija? or ¿A qué se dedica ahora tu hija? It's also direct, but a little less. (What sounds very direct? Que hace tu hija? or Que esta haciendo tu hija?)

If the daughter it's=is painting MY sofa.........

I hope this helps
Saludos
