Syrupy sweet love (stories)
Yucky love (stories)

Empalagoso and cursi are words that are a little hard to translate to English, but sometimes gooey works. Disneyish is another word.

Fancier words like inspid, jejune and vapid may be better choices, but a lot of people don't know these words.

PS overly sentmental love may also work

Google translated Amor empalagoso to lovey dovey. I don't know what Amor empalagoso means but if its a couple who are very loving and affectionate. Lovey dovey might work?
