Here's the kind of sentence that drives me crazy

Segun el británico The Times el productor de la ceremonia Bill Mechanic, que trabajó con Cameron en Titanic no se atrevió que el director se viera
enfrentado a un chiste que podría haberlo ofendido.
According to the British paper The Times, the producer of the ceremony
Bill Mechanic, who worked with Cameron in Titanic woundn't go a far as to say that the director has faced a joke that would have offended him.

I think I translated it well, but at first it was like putting together a puzzle.

Which way are you translating? Should it not be ...that could have offended him?

It's true this is not the best kind of sentences ever, and it should have been split into two or three ones... still, some commas wouldn't have harmed:

My proposal:

According to the British paper The Times, the producer of the ceremony,
Bill Mechanic --who worked with Cameron in Titanic-- didn't dare to make the director face a joke that might have offended him.

That makes more sense. Thanks
