La Partida vs El Partido

What is the difference between the feminine noun "partida" and its masculine counterpart "partido"

The different between El partido and the noun La partida, they are don't mean the same because the word El partido this word mean for example the party political or a soccer game instead the phrase La partida mean for example when a person has to go to some place this phrase would be translate to Spanish so La persona se tiene que ir.

I hope my example to be of useful for you.

poli will become famous soon enoughpoli will become famous soon enough
They both mean divided or split in the past participle. The difference depends upon whether the subjuct carries the maculine or feminine gender.

Additionally partido as a noun means political party and partida as a noun means departure.

There may be other specific meanings to partida and partido , but these
are the basic ones.

You forget you're speaking with Satyr, our poker expert.
Partido: a game, a match. Ej: partido de fútbol, de baloncesto, de rugby, de tenis, de waterpolo.
Partida: a game, a match. Usually with cards, or in a desk/table, including computer games:
cards:Partida de póker, de mus, de cinquillo, de bridge
others: partida de ajedrez, de Monopoly, de Stratego, de dados, de petanca, de dominó.
Computers: "vamos a echar una partida al WoW, al Final Fantasy, al Pro Evolution Soccer, al Wii Sports"
"Partido" and "Partida" have other meanings, as Crotalito and Rusty said.
Saludos

Thanks, sosia, for your good answer. And, I'm sure you meant to say poli when you gave credit to the other good responses.
