No pensaba/pensé que hubiera sacado un 10

No pensaba/pensé que hubiera sacado un 10

Hola a todos:

¿Me podrían decir si están bien estos dos diálogos, por favor?

Dice: cuando acabamos el examen, nos pareció/creímos que nos había ido mal, pero la maestra nos devolvió los examenes y dijo alegremente que los dos habíamos sacado un 10. No pensaba que hubiera sacado un 10 (después de haber terminado el examen y más tarde). ¡No lo podía creer!

Cuando acabamos el examen, creímos/nos pareció que nos había ido mal, pero la maestra nos devolvió los examenes y dijo alegremente que los dos habíamos sacado un 10. No pensé que hubiera sacado un 10 (en el momento en que había terminado en el examen). ¡No lo pude creer!

For me both are OK. However, the first sentence in bold letters should be tucked at the end of the second one and vice versa. :-)

Thank you very much

I thought you want to keep the tenses the same. (no pensaba...no lo podía crear) Is it actually better to blend the preterite and the imperfect in cases like this? Does anyone know if it is the same in other countries?

I think that's how I use it. Which might be wrong, but it is common to do it like that.

If it is wrong, Rusty, Angelica and or Irma can straighten this up.
