estuche - masculine noun (el) - case, box, sheath. Look up estuche in the dictionary

El estuche de mi guitarra ya está muy maltratado. Creo que ya se va a deshacer.
My guitar case is really beat up. I think it's going to fall apart soon.

In Spain the translation for your sentence would be something like:
La funda de mi guitarra está muy vieja. Me da (creo) que se va a romper de un momento a otro.

Algunos estuches son "blandos" de tela y otros son "duros" como una caja. ¿A los dos dirías funda? Y eso de me da que... sería se me hace que... in Mexico.

Perdona, acabo de ver esto por primera vez. Tienes razón, puede que al duro le llamara estuche, pero si oyera funda tampoco me sonaría raro.
