The determiner (article) agrees with the gender and number of the noun it marks. This is just like adjectives, which agree with the gender and number of the noun they modify.

The gender of a noun has NOTHING to do with the gender of the person who is speaking.
Gender is merely a noun classification and has nothing to do with who uses it.

The only time you need to worry about the gender matching the person who is speaking, being addressed or being referenced is when the person is the one the adjective applies to.
In all of your sentences, the person speaking was not "being modified" by the adjective or determiner you used.

Here are some examples when the gender of the adjective reflects back on the subject (the person who is speaking):
Estoy cansado. (man speaking)
Estoy cansada. (woman speaking)

Here are others:
El tercer hombre. (The third man.)
La tercera mujer. (The third woman.)
La tercera hija de mi vecino (The third child of my neighbor)

But when 'third' is applied to an object, like a house, it agrees in gender and number with the object it marks:
Mis vecinos viven en la tercera casa. (My neighbors live in the third house.)
El tercer libro en la mesa (The third book on the table)

Me saqué el primer premio = I draw out/ I was drawn out as/ I won the first prize

Fui el primero, en el vecindario, en tener un Ipod = I was the first, in the neighborhood, to have an Ipod

Fui la primera, en el vecindario, en tener un Ipod = I was the first, in the neighborhood, to have an Ipod.

El primer/el primero (use for male)

La primera (use for female)

Some people use "la primer", and I really don't know if it is correct, but I don't use it.

I am interested in learning Chinese and I need to ask a lot of questions first. Would you mind in contacting in private?
