Hola a todos, soy nuevo en el foro y mi primera pregunta es acerca de si existe una expresión en inglés equivalente a hacer el paripé.

Hola Benito,

"Hacer el paripé" puedes traducir como "to pretend":

el niño hizo el pariṕe que estaba dormido / the child was pretending being asleep

En cuanto a tu pregunta, sí, HomoVulgaris te ha dado una buena respuesta. Otra opción es,
To put on an act
(asumir o adoptar un papel = hacer teatro, fingir.)
